I hope you weren't using Abreva before she took the swab as that could confuse the results. If your swab test is positive for HSV 1, then you can put your worries about HSV 2 behind you. If it is negative, and you want to retest by blood antibody test (IgG), I would do that in 3-4 months from the time of your exposure.

the bump on my lip seems to have gotten smaller today.. but when i eat something it gets agitated and it swells up a little, then it goes back down in size again. thank you for your answer dr terri. as i said, i rarely get cold sores on my mouth.. from what i remember... maybe 3 or 4 times max my whole life. bump still does not itch or burn, no other symptoms. when i did the swab test, it seem like she popped it but i didnt notice much fluid coming out.. although it did seem smaller for a little while before puffing up a little again. i have been using abreva for the past 3 days or so, drinking tea, and trying to avoid eating anything acidic. ive also been taking 1000mg vitC and E daily for the past 3 days. i just dont know what else i can do, and im still scared outta my mind. when is the best to get it tested? from what i have been reading, it seems like i got the test done a little early to be sure. thank you for your advice dr.
Since you already have HSV 1 oral infection (cold sores), it would be very unlikely that you would get HSV 1 from receiving oral sex in a new location. The timing of a swab test has more to do with the state of the lesions (i.e, redness vs. blister vs. scab). The timing of the antibody test IS important - that is, you need to wait long enough after the potential infection date to get tested.
HSV 2 infection is very very rarely transmitted from mouth to genitals. I would not be too worried about that at all.
