Sores on the penis

Hello,
I had unprotected sex with the same partner for years and while having sex one night my partner had become very dry and I injured my penis.  It was like a brush burn.  We waited a few days and had sex again and my penis would get red and swollen in that same area near the head.  I also have had trouble masterbating because while doing it one time it got sore and there was a small cut in the same area.  I've put neosporin on it and would wait for weeks and there would be a scab then it would peel off and when I masterbated it would be sore or even cut.  Now it's been over a 2 years and I'm still dealing with it.  We've been using a condom while having sex to prevent me or her getting cut.  What do I do to heal up?  Do you think that it may be something more?  I've looked at herpes and it doesn't look like that.  I've had scabs growing there and then neosporin will soften them and eventually they peel off but the scab grows back and I haven't had normal smooth skin there in years.  How do I get it back?

I think I know what you're experiencing.  After years of this, I still don't know.  The first time if I remember correctly, after intercourse, the shaft of my penis tingled.  Later, I saw little tears in the shaft of my penis. Then, flakes would come on where the tears were.  I put neosporin on it too, and it went away.  However, it would come back shortly thereafter intercourse.  Now after about 3yrs, I have a reoccuring sore on my shaft.  Been tested for herpes, but don't have it.  Doctor says it looks like herpes, but the test prove different.

You really need to go to your provider and start a work up for this. anything that hasn't fully healed in 2 years is something that deserves a proper work up.  You might also need a latex allergy work up done too.

I'd also stop putting the neosporin on it - it can be irritating in the genital area on some people.
