Actually herpes is an infection of the nerves and the skin and a dermatologist is a much better choice than an infectious disease specialist. To be honest, most folks who go to an ID doc for herpes, come away very disappointed unless it's an hiv infection with hsv complicating things.
Also if you were following the o.p.'s other posts, you'd see that my recommendation was made according to his history and not just because he thinks he has herpes despite opinions to the contrary by trained medical practitioners.

not a dermatologist. HSV is not a skin conidtion, it is a viral infection
as I believe I advised in your other post, you need to continue following up on this with a dermatologist.

I had 3 seperate large sores on the head of my penis and was told it was genital herpes. I had had six IgG herpesselect blood tests done over a six month period that all came back negative. I would like to know what my sores were, that were mistaken for herpes sores.
Have you started getting symptoms now or what that you are asking this?
