Spread of infection

I was always careful with unprotected sex. I went to the clinic every 3 months for STD checks. I went for my regular check up and was clear of STD's. A month later my partner went and had a positive test for herpies. I went back after receiving that news and was told I had also been infected even though my last test was negative. My partner said it came from the girl he cheated with. I had a health care provider tell me that females can not infect males. I don't understand that because he doesn't like men. Can someone help me get an understanding of this please.

well if you were both tested prior to his affair and were both negative and now you both have it, it does sound like it came from the partner in question.

keep asking questions :)

Yes we use to get tested together. I only ended up going a month ahead of him because it was my annual.

yes indeed genital herpes can transmit fro females to males. whoever told you that it can't, should be reported to their clinic manager as needing further education on genital herpes!

what testing did your partner have done? does he have hsv1 or hsv2?

what testing have you had done?
