OK, thanks! The chances are reasonable that I had HSV-1 from childhood as well, since my father gets cold sores. I just don't want to behave irresponsibly.
But the odds are he already has oral HSV1. No need for concerns here.
Unfortunately the chances are I won't be able to get the HSV test -- they simply are not done here if you don't have symptoms. I will probably just have to wait and see if I get any blisters in the next few weeks.
Should I refrain from all contact with my boyfriend for the next few weeks? I'd feel like an awful person if I gave it to him before I knew I had it.
Hi, most at risk for contacting oral herpes as your describing are young children whoes immune systems are not yet strong. Did you have a risk to contact herpes by this? Yes, Did you? almost certainly not.
You might want to test for hsv oral as upward of 65% of the adult population would test positive and you already might have it from childhood so you cant catch it again, Just a thought.
