Symptoms

I was tested positive for hsv2, 1.01. From oral and intercourse. Will retest soon. However I am experiencing tingling and redness around the outer edges of the lips, bottom more.  The sensation comes in waves and stays on a couple of days; then fades a couple; comes back..etc. I have not had a major breakout since occurence, 2 months now. I am not taking any medication either.  I am afraid of kissing anyone...thinking I am contagious most of the time? Is symptom normal? Is itcbecause the viral load in my body is low?

This is IGG test and >1 is deemed positive. I went to my PPC and he did a IGM as well that came out negative. He said to redo a test in 3 months. Ever since the unprotected sexual incident, I've experienced recurring redness and tingling on the lips. And one time, day after the incident, my penal head had tiny burning sensation nodules or dots. Yet, No blisters no lesion though, no breakouts. My PPC did not add much; I don't understand why the lips tingle, never happened in the passed, should I see a dermatologist?

A result of 1.01 is not positive. Was this an IgG test? If is equivocal and  I. The vast majority of cases proves to be negative at this level.

It is unlikely that you have HSV2 on this evidence and even more unlikely that you have HSV2 orally.

There is a good chance for anyone to have oral HSV1 that may have caused the major outbreak you describe. Even this could be other conditions though. The ongoing tingling and redness does not seem to be related to herpes.

Get follow up testing for IgG antibodies for HSV1 and HSV2 at 16 weeks post exposure of concern.
