Hello, Grace.
This is just a technical question regarding on the site:
How do I delete questions that was already posted?
I am sorry but I can't help you with the accuracy of the herpes testing you had done since it's not one that is widely used in the US.
Sorry:
Below 8.5 is negative
8.5 - 11.5 is grey zone
11.5 and above is positive
Judging by the the 1st results and the current, is it possible that I may have hsv2? I was tested for ebv and cmv and came back positive. Is it possible these viruses may have compromised the results? I'm sorry to trouble you yet again.
Hello again. I got my 2nd result and I was negative yet again. But I was concerned because my herpes 2 was highly elevated than it was the last time. Here are my results
H1: 2.0
H2: 6.1
Note: Negative results is 11.5
What are your thoughts?
usually hair loss only occurs with secondary syphilis. it stops soon after treatment. if you are having significant hair loss, see your provider for further work up.
I see. So I take it that test will come out positive but remains passive, correct? I was wondering if symptoms that is related to Syphilis will still persist after treatment. For example, hair fall.
no it doesn't mean it's still active.
it will probably be negative eventually but some folks it stays positive which is why we have the additional confirmatory syphilis tests available.
Also, I was wondering if symptoms that is related to Syphilis will still persist after treatment. For example, hair fall.
Does that mean that the infection is still active? Will it eventually subside to a negative? The chances of it becoming worse could also happen (say, for example, I remain sexual inactive for years)?
you might have a + rpr for months if not years. we don't recommend retreating after the initial treatment. thankfully the 1 shot of penicillin works very well for syphilis :)
if in the future you need to test for syphilis - if your rpr comes back as being +, make sure they do additional testing to rule out reinfection vs just still picking up your prior infection.
I'll do that.
Anyways, another query that's not herpes-related;
I was treated for Syphilis and my vdrl count dropped from 1:64 to 1:4 (after two jabs). I was wondering if:
1) I'm still able to pass this to anyone after being treated?
2) I should continue with another form of medication (or Penicillin jab) lower the ratio or should that just be fine?
Thanks for your patience, Grace.
your symptoms really don't sound like herpes going on. follow up with the dermatologist as needed as I previously suggested.
really no reason to doubt your results. honestly not everything is due to herpes!!!
Hey Grace. I'm sorry for troubling you again but I wanted to ask if there is a chance that the result is not conclusive? I'm reading threads on this site and other forum of testing negative but still experiencing symptoms related to the virus. Can you shed some light regarding on the matter.
your results are clear negatives.
Btw, Grace. Can you help me interpret this result:
igg
HSV1 : 0.14
HSC2 : 0.13
igm
HSV1: 0.53
HSV2: 0.55
I know Igm test are pointless, but can it mean anything? Like, a recent infection occurred?
So I'm taking that the results are conclusive? Is there any chance that my results are faulty?
your symptoms don't sound like herpes . you've tested negative for herpes. continue to follow up with a dermatologist as needed for your symptoms.
