The Itch

So basically, I havent been tested yet, but I'm 98% sure I have HSV-2. My doctor looked at me about a day after I noticed a pimple looking bump on my penis. She gave me acne cream and I used it for two days. I started to realize a larger redder area around the initial spot, first I thought the cream was burning me a little, and then I did my anxiety-fueled internet research. Called the doctor back, and she prescribed Valtrex. I've been taking it for two days and I'm still extremely itchy. Thankfully, my sore is healing up after about a week and a half. But, my main question is, do I itch forever now? Like is this persistent burning itch, that is basically still part of my initial outbreak, going to last forever? Does it ever completely stop? Should I just cut my dick off or what, give it to me straight people, I need help because I dont know who to talk to..

No. If this is caused by hsv (and I'm not convinced it is) it will pass. Sounds like it could be a fungal infection. Hsv usually does not itch like you describe.
