mouth sore

If someone w/ a cold sore eats/drinks, it's my understanding that they shouldn't share utensils. However, what is the risk of someone handling the utensils. (i.e. Rinsing them off) does the person rinsing off "infected" dishes at risk?

There is no risk to the person.  Soap and water kills the virus easily.  The only way you are really at risk as an adult is those romantic type kisses with your partner.

no risk...HSV-1 is spread with a romantic type kiss, not from washing utensils.
