Throat Herpes or Tonsilitis

I recently had oral and vaginal sex (5 times) with a casual male partner. 1 week after having sex I shaved my pubic hair and around 3 days later noticed some small red bumps on the inside of my vagina, when squeezing these bumps some white fluid came out. I went to the Dr and they said they believed the bumps were ingrown hair follicles rather than herpes.

Today 2 weeks and 3 days after last having sex (so one week after the shaving) I have been diagnosed with a bad case of tonsillitis, I can't swallow it feels like I'm swallowing razor blades, my glands are very swollen and sore and near my tonsils is a bit of pus. I am scared I may have oral herpes, please help.

oral herpes is very common and odds are either you already have it or your partner does. Statistically 1 out of every 2-3 people has oral herpes.

as I said, herpes usually doesn't create pus. did they do the strep test?

Grace, nope I didn't mention it to them because I only had the thought about it after I had left. They have given me antibiotics so I'm hoping that if it clears up then it may not be herpes as there is no cure for herpes.....

usually herpes in the throat doesn't cause pus to form. did they do a throat culture for strep? did you mention your concern about std's as a cause?
