Thrush or an STI? help?

I am 18 years old, Female.
I have experienced thrush on an off ever since i turned 16
I used creams and herbal products and they have passed. When the first symptoms occurred i was with my first boyfriend and it was the first time we had ever had sexual encounters with anyone. Initially i was highly concerned That i had caught an STI (i'm from Australia) such as herpes but realised that it didn't make sense because it was the first time in any way for both of us. We weren't sexually active and our relationship ended.
I'm now 18 and have started to experience the problem again but i have been seeing someone for the last few months.
He informed me that he has been tested and had no results of any STI's
We have only ever engaged in safe sex but i am absolutely terrified that what i am witnessing now is herpes. It's the same symptoms as always but i am just more concerned now and scared. Itching, redness, tenderness and heavy thick white discharge.
I went to the doctors and was examined. They informed me it was thrush and to use a cream. It cleared up successfully but like when i was 16 it will come back around the time of my period. I told them that i have continued to have symptoms since i was 16 and they said that some women do suffer from chronic thrush.
I always have the thick white discharge. And my partner has not had any symptoms of such since us being together sexually.
Do i have chronic thrush?
I know it's what the doctor said, even after explaining everything in detail.
Someone please give me some kind of insight. It is worrying me sick!

You've been seen and diagnosed by a medical professional. No reason to think herpes, as quite honestly your symptoms are very indicitive of thrush. Follow up with your medical provider, and as well, ask your partner for a copy of his STI results if you don't believe him.

I also suffer from chronic fatigue. Could that be an issue? I am so incredibly worried.
