Tiny Cuts - Is This Herpes or Did I Cut Myself?

Hi. I will try to keep this short. Basically, I have around two tiny little cuts above my clitoris. They resemble paper cuts. They don't bleed. And I didn't really even notice they were there until I took a shower last night, because they don't really hurt very bad. My question is could this be herpes or could I have just torn the skin there? I masturbate with the water jet of the showerhead, with the water pressure turned up really high, and that is when I actually noticed the cuts. Could the water pressure have caused my skin to tear above my clitoris? My skin has been irritated in that spot before but I have never noticed cuts before now.

And I don't know if this matters, but my partner and I were just treated for gonorrhea exactly a week ago, and then I was also treated for a yeast infection after. My skin was already itchy and irritated in places, but I have never had tears anywhere in my skin down there before.

Basically, I am just wondering if it could be the start of herpes or if I cut myself with over stimulation of the area, because I can't find cuts or sores anywhere else. Just where the water goes when I masturbate. I have had no sexual contact with anyone for way over a week. Help?

Hi I'm going through exactly the same thing! Except my cuts stung when I touch them/wash with water! I'm a Virgin also so I don't suspect them to be an STD! What are they?!?

I already said these are more likely to be yeast related than herpes.

I know it's hard to wait for test results but at this point nothing else you can do.

I know I might be being a little bit anxious about this subject and I should just wait for my swab results to come back, but really, if I have never had any sores on my genitals before, but I have two tiny tears in the clitoral hood right now, is it really likely to be herpes? I actually have to pull my labia apart and examine the clitoral area to even find the splits in the skin. They aren't getting any better or any worse. The skin isn't dry or chapped. There is no discharge or bleeding. They don't hurt a lot, just itch a little bit. I am only asking again because I've been searching for "tears" or "cuts on clitoral hood" and I don't get a lot of results on that. I have even been searching other herpes stories on here and not many people mention cuts or tears, but rather bumps or blisters, which I have none. If anything, do you know of anywhere I could find information about cuts, tears, or rips in vulva tissue? Sorry if I'm being a little bit pushy, but I can barely find information about my symptoms anywhere and my doctor was very vague about it.

I just got out of the doctor and she swabbed the cuts, and I was right, there were two of them right above the clitoris. She said it didn't look like a typical first herpes outbreak, but I could possibly have had herpes but had an asymptomatic outbreak before. But she doesn't know until the swab tests come back. She told me it was also possible that I had just cut myself with the water pressure or from scratching.

as I said, yeast infections can cause tears in the skin. your description of your symptoms doesn't sound like herpes but cover your bases at the proper time with a type specific herpes igg blood test just to err on the side of caution.

Could have been from your scratching if you did.  Show the doctor and let us know what they think.  They can swab and send for a culture if they feel its herpes.  They don't have to have fluid to do a swab with.  If they culture ask that it is typed as well.

I did have yeast recently, actually. When I went in for my second STD testing, I had a yeast infection then and they prescribed fluconazole, but then with all the antibiotics they think the yeast may have came back so I took more fluconazole. And then the itching got a little better, but my skin remained irritated in places, and then I noticed those tiny, almost unnoticable paper cut areas above the clitoris. I am going to be seen again today, but the cuts almost look like they healed a bit overnight, but I still have no idea what they are or how they got there.

I'm sure you are sick of going to be seen but it's the best thing to do at this point. You don't know if you recently had yeast or not but yeast can cause these issues too. Be seen, get a proper exam and if they suspect herpes, they can do a lesion culture and typing on these.

one thing HHH didn't mention in his terrific reply to your questions on his forum is how to cover your other std testing bases since you recently had a different partner. You were covered for chlamydia and gonorrhea with your treatment. You need to wait 6 weeks post encounter for syphilis testing and 3 months for herpes and hiv testing.  You and your partner should probably consider protected sex until you've covered all your bases fully.
