Transferring herpes type 1

Just last night a new friend greeted me with a hug and kiss on the cheek. It was after that I noticed she had what looked like a herpetic lesion near the corner of her mouth (definitely didn't look like a pimple). I didn't ask.
What's the chance that I could have contracted herpes on my check or on the face in general from this greeting.

You will get nothing from medical equipment.  By law, they have to sterilize them or use new things with each patient.  Trust me, no clinic or doctor would take that risk.

Please seek help for this.

Thanks Auntie for the reassurance but I can't help wonder why I would get a small cut in a place where I do not shave nor where there is a visible hair follicle. I will follow up with my medical practitioner. She has told me they do clean the machine but seeing something that is obviously not supposed to be there does make me concern. Assuming it's all nothing, I will seek out therapy for my worries.

No, you don't have herpes.  I don't know what your tear is, but its not herpes.  See your doctor for that.

You seem to be obsessed with herpes.  I don't know if this anxiety is common in other areas of your life, or around herpes only, but you might want to talk to someone about it.  I say that with kindness, not criticism.  There are lots of great therapies and meds for anxiety and obsessive disorders.

This might seem like sheer craziness but on top of my above concern all of a sudden I have a slight tear just a couple millimeters below my vaginal opening. This I just noticed and it is preceded by a intravaginal sonogram done by a technician looking for cervical abnormalities approximately 12 days ago. They use a condom like sheath over the instrument but I'm wondering now if that little cut I notice is jut literally dry skin that got abraded from touching/inspecting the area (no sexual contact in months) or if I could have somehow contracted herpes from the vaginal sonogram (maybe they don't clean the probe in between patients even if they put a covering on the probe?

The skin on the cheek is much thicker and more resistant than the soft mucous membranes of the lips and mouth.

To clarify the peck on cheek was last night.

Also, why is it adults needn't worry? Is their skin or immune system of an adult more resistant to the virus if it hits the cheek versus when a baby is kissed on the cheek?

I don't have HSV-1 nor 2 based on blood test as of May and have not been kissing anyone romantically since then so again

If this friend had an active lesion near the corner of her mouth and was not aware of how catchy it is and gave me a peck on the cheek have I now contracted HSV-1??

As an adult, oral herpes is almost exclusively transmitted thru romantic type kisses, not social kisses.  You really don't have to worry about this is by chance you don't already have hsv1 yourself.

wow. you have nothing to be worried about. especially from an oral herpes contact. how do you know youre not already infected with the virus. over 75% of us already are. cold sores arent that big a deal. main advice would be to abstain from oral sex or deep kissing while one is present.
cheers
