Vaginal sores. Scared to death it might be herpes. Helps asap.

I just recently got over Colitis. And I use to wipe really hard and my perineum would itch and be really irritated.  I recently started having sex with a new partner. And the first time we had sex I shaved the same day we had protected sex. He's well endowed and the sex was really rough and I wasn't very wet. The itching and irritation was still going on 2 days after sex. My doctor said I had a yeast infection, but discovered sores also. My discharge is normal. I've been previously checked for std's and it came back negative. But that the sores might be herpes. I've yet to get the results and I'm really scared to death.

they should've typed the culture. call them and ask. if they didn't ask them to please call the lab that they use to see if they still have the specimen to type it. also remind them they should be typing all cultures for herpes as per CDC guidelines so that they can change their practice if they aren't automatically ordering typing of lesion cultures when they send them off!

ive had prior herpes scares. And they were all swab tests and all came back negative. I dont even want to ask him. If i have it, i guess i have it. I've always been a sick person. I guess I'm going to have to get a blood test to find out what kind it is. Cause it was on my genitals.

how was your partner tested?

do you have hsv1 or hsv2?   did you also by chance have a herpes blood test at the same time as the lesion culture? have you ever had a herpes blood test prior to this?  you mentioned prior std testing but you'll need to check to see if herpes was even a part of it.

you can call them - no need to wait for them to call and then find out months from now they forgot to call you.

he's been tested and it came back negative. I'm still waiting for my results. Doctors says it looks like herpes, but it might be a severe yeast infection. She gave me herpes medication just in case. I dont have bumps, they were cuts, but I assumed it would be from the rough sex and being dry and from the previous hard wiping and a combination of everything else. It's been a little past a week, and it still hurts. I saw the doctor January 4th. and still havent gotten any results. She said they would call if anything. still nothing. it just worries me.

The testing if all that was done is a blood test is done too soon.  You should have had the bumps cultured.  But chances are unless you saw the doctor today it may not give accurate results.

Did they check you for a yeast/bacterial infection?

Your previous testing may not have included Herpes igg testing as it isn't included on most STD panels.  Did the doctor say the sores might be herpes or is that your thinking.

What testing was done?
