Valtrex and other meds

I was recently diagnosed with HSV2 and have been placed on a Suppressive therapy, but I am also on Paroxetine 10mg, Deplin, and Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Is this a bad combo? The doc has me on all but I'm afraid an ob will happen with all these crazy meds.

you will still have recurrences even while on daily suppressive therapy. They will be far less though because of the supprssive therapy.

how were you diagnosed as having hsv2?

if you can't get a lesion culture done, follow up with the herpes WB blood test as I previously suggested.

Would you recommend further testing? I'm curious as to why my scores were different and could this be a false positive?

Grace, I had a test done again and my igg came back at 2.18. Does this mean that the 4.1 was the start of the virus?

be seen every time you have a vaginal infection for proper testing. if they see new lesions, they can always culture them for herpes to confirm your status for you and help you get to the bottom of what is herpes and what isn't.

did your husband get tested yet?

it just means that your odds of a false positive are lower.

have you had actual lesions at all yet? if not, you should err on the side of caution and confirm your status with a herpes WB blood test.

Grace, my results were a 4.10, does that mean my outbreak was severe?

there are false positive issues with the blood tests which is why I always encourage folks to get a copy of their test results and post them here.

has your husband been tested yet? if not, he needs to be. you can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take until you know who has what.

I thought it would be tested for during my blood when I got pregnant but I was told no. I had my daughter via cesearean so all my deliveries will be that way as well

It was specifically for hsv2, my doc said Ive most likely had it for several years but has never been detected as hsv is not tested for during ck ups or paps. It is insane on how often hsv is misdiagnosed. I went in twice in one week and at first it was thought to be a yeast infection then bv but ultimately we did a specific test and it came back positive. I'm heartbroken but know that my life is far from over. Life is beautiful, I've just fallen into a mishap. I pray my husband doesn't have it or never contracts it from me.

I will gladly take a look at your test results to make sure you were properly tested if you want to post them here - e.g. hsv1 igg 6.9 and hsv2 igg 2.2 or whatever they are.
