Feeling so weak since starting treatment for herpes type 2

I don't wanna keep calling my doctor for every little thing. I've been on Acyclovir 400mg for about 10 days now. Had to take 2 a day for the first week and now down to 1 a day.
I'm currenty 28 weeks pregnant.
The pain down there has went down and I can finally wipe and pee without pain. I'm just a bit itchy down there and around my butthole (sorry tmi). I only get the occational sharp shooting pain that will last a few moments and feels like I am being ripped up down there. It goes away a few moments later.
My main issue right now is that I just feel so drained and sick. I feel like I am going to throw up, my body aches, and I had a fever the other night. Plus have really bad headaches and my body feels so weak that I can barely move and struggle just to move around.
Is this normal with these pills? I have to take them for the rest of my pregnancy and 6 weeks after I have my baby.
I hate feeling like this. It's starting to make me feel really depressed because I just don't have the energy to do anything. I even have been getting extra sleep and nothing is helping.

acyclovir is not effective at the once a day dose.

feeling pretty rotten is a side effect to the herpes antivirals :(  You are sick, you are pregnant and you are on medication - not too unexpected to feel crappy.

did you plan to switch to daily suppressive therapy after you finished your 10 day dose?

since you are pregnant, has your ob doc planned to follow you up closely for the rest of your pregnancy since you contracted hsv2 during your pregnancy?

Glad to hear the main herpes symptoms are finally improving.

Acyclovir is one of the least toxic of all prescription medicines and is virtually free of side effects. I strongly doubt it is the cause of your weakness etc. Probably it's the herpes itself, or just being pregnant (many women are "drained" during the last third of their normal pregnancies), or both. Or something else, including depression or anxiety over this situation.  In any case, this doesn't sound like a "little thing" and you definitely should discuss it with your doctor. Assuming she is a caring physician, she won't think you're overreacting.
