Havent had an ob in 7 yrs and currently taking 500mg valtrex to prevent one.  My ? Is can you just have a sore area that hurts when urinating? I didnt have any symptoms or have any blisters ut just suddenly burned in the bathroom 2 days ago.  If it is an obreak how long to heal if taking valtrex last 3 wks and still currently.

I can't say. Make sure your doctor is aware of the situation. There's nothing else to be done at this time.

A herpes outbreak certainly could show up like this. And although valacyclovir  (Valtrex) is quite effective in preventing outbreaks, it isn't perfect; outbreaks sometimes occur when on treatment. On the other hand, herpes outbreaks almost never last more than a few days, especially when on treatment -- so most likely the soreness is something else.

Most important, though, is that you show this to your obsetrician, and also discuss it with him or her if you go into labor.
