Could it be genital herpes?

Hi there, I recently began a sexual relationship with someone, its the first sexual contact I have had in a number of years. I know its not smart but we have been having unprotected oral and vaginal sex. About 3 weeks ago, one morning after sex, I noticed a coldsore coming up on my lip (something I havent had in years). Anyway we abstained from sex until it was healed. A few days ago I got what I thought were symptoms of thrush, something I have had in the past, I got treatment from the chemist, and the itching mainly subsided. However, I still have some burning and itching, I have also been quite tender, there are a couple of small lumps on my upper thighs, look like pimples more than anything else. I also have a thick white vaginal discharge, it doesnt have any odour. I am due to start my period shortly. I feel physically and mentally uncomfortable! Is it possible that my oral herpes has been transferred to my genitals? How likely is it? I plan on getting to a doctor after the weekend but would really like some opinions. Thanks for your time

If you look up the symptoms for cancer of the vagina, you will see a lot of the symptoms you have now. Does this mean you have cancer also? Symptoms on the internet are VERY VERY general!! That's why people post here because they lead people down the wrong path.

Thanks for your opinion slacker101 (with or without a vagina!),
I have spent the last couple of hours reading as much info as I can find about herpes, on one hand I am a little relieved as it doesnt sound as nightmarish as I first imagined. On the other I am totally confused about whether I could have it, my symptoms do match it in some ways. But like you say it is unlikely I would get genital hsv1 if I already have oral hsv1. I wonder if I have a mild dose of hsv2? If I had a mild dose, that would mean that any subsequent ones would be mild too wouldnt it?
I cant find another std that seems to match my symptoms. I just feel really icky and horrible at the moment, want an answer right away but have to wait to get in to see a doctor. At least its not life threatening I guess.
Anyway thanks for your time, take care :)

I doubt it is herpes. If you already have HSV1, you are pretty much immune from catching it somewhere else AND it helps a little for contracting it's sister, HSV2. I don't know what you have but get to a Doctor and have it checked out!! Could be clymidia or vaginosis. Not having a vagina it is tough to say.. Grace????
