What now?

I've been married for 10 years. 4 children. I'm recently divorced and decided to get std testing. To my surprise, HSV-2, came back low postive at 2.82. I was shocked. I had my ex-husband go for testing. He was negative. What do I do next? My OB was shocked since she has known me for 11 years and I don't and never did have any symptoms. I'm so confused. Please help.

My ob seems reluctant to order the Biokit and the WB. Can I become a phone client of yours and have your office write the script for them? I'm in Florida.

one last question: Is it possible for someone to test positive for antibodies and have killed off the virus completely when their immune system attacked it?

Thanks for you help!

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Herpes/low-positives---confirmatory-results/show/1097724#post_5968138  is an ongoing post we have on the low positives and why it's important to confirm them with additional testing. lots of info in there :)

could you really have hsv2? of course but certainly worth confirming that due to the low result as well as your lack of symptoms over the years.

let us know how your confirmatory testing turns out :)

I've heard rumors that chicken poxs and mono, not to mention hpv can mess with the igg testing and give false numbers. is this true?

this is a low positive and needs confirmed with additional confirmatory testing. your provider should order you a herpes Wb blood test. if they use quest labs it's #34534.
