When did I get infected?

Hello Doctors. Please allow me to thank you for all your work here. It's helped me a lot in understanding STDs..

On to my question:

On a trip to South America 50 days ago,  I  was given un-protected oral sex by 2 different females, one of which in hindsight, exhibited high risk behaviour.  During a drunken stupor, I ignorantly allowed this female to profusely kiss me orally. Sex was otherwise performed with American made condoms.

Since that, I have had similar sex with 3 other lower risk females. All of the said females are non-professionals (which is why they prefer unprotected oral I guess).

2 weeks after the South American 3-way, I noticed a pinhead sized pink bump near the upper base of my penis.  I'm drinking  gym supplements which are known for causing pimples, so I popped it.

Like all the pimples I get on my face,  it quickly scabbed up and went away.  I usually pop my pimples until they bleed so they usually scab. I then use neosporin to avoid scars.

However, a 2-3 days later, I noticed 3 much smaller bumps under the edge of my lower lip. That worried me.
Another pimple like blister flared up on my lower abdomen, but still in my groin area. I popped them all. This 2nd one on the groin took 2 weeks to heal, as it got infected. I think I had a sore throat, but don't remember getting sick.

At this same time, my regular g/f complained about being flu-ish, and having a clear bump inside her lower lip.  My world came crashing down on me.

Last week I went to an urologist friend, and he glanced at the infected blemish, and dismissed it as foliculitis. He also dismissed what my g/f had as a non std sore.  He prescribed a paste for her, but wouldn't prescribe labwork for me. Anyways the paste worked overnight. Her blemish disappeared.

I was still suspicious, and very self conscious about every itch, sting  and tingle in my penis and groin.  Things I think I usually ignored. So I went to a dermatologist for a 2nd opinion. I also showed him the label of the supplement I' drinking before I hit the gym, and he immediately concurred with the 1st diagnosis, blaming my acne flareup and the groin blemishes on the High  B+, Folic Acid, and Creatine content.

I was still nervous, so I asked for a full labwork. Curiously, he did not prescribe HSV-1 testing, which I had him add later.  I warned all my other female friends, and all of them told me they haven't had a single symptom.

After 5 days of very anxious waiting, my labwork came up,  negative for everything except for HSV:

Test 1 Lab 1
HSV, IgM  combined 2.95 H

Test 2- Lab 2
HSV-1 IgG spec  2.87 ISR
HSV-2 IgG spec  <.90 ISR on elisa test

So I'm unequivocally screwed with HSV-1.  Now on to my questions if you could please help :

1- We'd still have to see in a couple months about HSV-2, right ? Or is 45 days enough to tell?
2- Judging by the amount of antibodies detected, is there a way of telling when did I get infected?
3- I never had a single detectable lesion on my penis. But it still itches (hairs?), tingles every once in a while (no idea),  a foreskin patch was somewhat rough, and stings a little sometimes (due to daily usage?). I think I've had these sensations all my life, but ignored them. Would that be right?  Could I still have genital HSV-1?
4- If what I had wasn't my 1st outbreak (lesion size does not match what I've read about here or seen in photos, maybe it wasn't an ob at all), maybe I've been a carrier most of my life?
5- Then, should I tell my regular g/f to get tested? I read that about 70% of the population carry this bug, but she's having a rough time. She came down with what she says it's a yeast infection last night.
6- Should I immediately drop the Argynine supplement?

Thanks for your interest.
JF

My 2nd result was .99.   I don't know if its lower now because of my stopping the use of gym supplements (L-Argynine), or if it is  the standard viral behavior.

first off I'm not convinced that your gf even has herpes.  she needs to be pursuing her own work up. oral herpes typically is not a bubble inside the inner lip of her mouth. Also the lesion on her thighs could be many things too.

Which hsv test result was 1 when you repeated it?

Thanks for your comments Daisy.
I am 100% sure that by the time I wrote that, my g/f had already acquired the virus. This because of the inner lip bubble, and a monstrous (quarter sized) zit-like growth in her inner thigh. As a matter of fact, she popped the thing and the fluid was creamy colored, just like a pimple, not clear as the typical hsv growth. I told her to go to the doctor, but she didn't mind it.

Regardless, all my other female friends have assured me they have been symptom free.

As an experiment, I decided to drop  the NOS supplement. I retested exactly 4 weeks after stopping its use, and the HSV antibody count was 1.0 ISR.- EQUIVOCAL.

I have no illusions of beating the bug, however; is this typical virus behavior after an initial infection, or could this be due to viral argynine starvation?

Thanks again

First of all this is not the Doctors Forum but I will answer as best I can I would think this is a recent infection of HSV1 whether it is Genital or Oral or both I don't know, you seem to have exhibited symptoms in both areas, it needs to be remembered that although condoms provide safety it is not 100% because if any of these girls had HSV2 genitally whereby their outbreaks are outwith the coverage area of a condom then you may have been infected genitally.
I would suggest being retested for both in another month and in the meantime do not perform oral sex or unprotected sex on anyone until you know for sure,it's possible you tested too soon,if you have already had oral or vaginal sex wih your g/f since these episodes she definately needs to be tested also.
Whilst I am not here to judge you are indeed putting your g/f at very high risk and that is very unfair, one off mistakes we all make but from what I read here you were with 5 other women 2 of whom you admit to being high risk plus another 3 which inevitably puts your regualr g/f at risk also.

I don't know anything about drink supplements I'm sorry.
