Which one is it

I had clear fluid filled bump on the lip of my vagina. It opened and afterwards it looks like an open sore. It didn't hurt at all. I went to the doctor she said it looked like folliculitis. And had me just buy some over the counter ointment. It healed and everything was fine. A couple months later I got the same bump. It opened and looked like a sore again. This time It burned. And I did not have the ointment and just put a band aid on it. It hurt a lot and burned so much. I did buy same ointment but this time it hurt even worse. I went to the doctor again and she said it looked like herpes. She didn't give me a actual test. What would be your inference on this? Thank you so much

The doctor said she would just be saving me money but not having me have a test done, which I was just in complete shock at the moment. The confusing part was if was herpes the whole time, Why didn't it hurt the first time?

Hi, the doctor should have swabbed it for herpes and also given you a blood test. Most often herpes is not a single sore in the genital area but after the first opens, it spreads to the immedtiate surronding area in a cluster type grouping. Some times when we have skin damage., like from your first sore, the area becomes a cronic site for repeat irritations. Also putting ointment (oil based) would inflame the area more and a bandade would keep the area from healing. Have a blood test now or if it re-appears have it swabbed to rule out herpes. Its really the only way to know for sure. Im of the opinion its not herpes.

if I were you id try and get a swab done(probably with a different doctor) when it comes back and maybe also a blood test, but be sure to wait at least 2-3months (if you know roughly when you had first signs) for the blood test so u reduce the risk of getting a false result
