Test Results

About 2 and a half weeks ago I slept with a girl that I think may be infected.. what she is infected with I am not positive on but I have heard heresay on her having some things but herpes was never mentioned . I did partake in foreplay with her without protection.. I do realize that herpes is contracted through skin to skin contact.. I didn't see any lesions or sores and once again I do realize that you can still contract there. We did end up having intercourse but I always use a condom and once again I know that it can still be contracted there. The problem is.. when I partook in the foreplay there was friction with my penis and the underwear and by the time it touched skin to skin, I had a small incision in the skin on the bottom of my penis. This cut developed into a sore and it began to worry me because all the symptoms of Herpes type 2 started to show. I started to have such as muscle aches.. the stinging sensation when it is touched.. along with some puss. I wasn't sure if it was just an infection or the actual real deal and I have been under so much stress I haven't even been able to think. So about 5 days after this encounter with the girl I went to the doctor and got tested for everything. They did a culture swab on the sore, drew blood, and collected urine. After the tests results came back everything was negative. The herpes part did say something that is extremely frightening. The HSV 1 test showed that I had .05 but the HSV 2 said I had .11 and according to the testing scale it says im equivocal. .90 and below is negative .90 and above is equivocal and 1.10 and greater says I am positive. I went ahead and got another test done considering the first test according to the first doctor pretty much already diagnosed me based on those results.. but I have to wait another 5 days. What do I do at this point? I am scared and extremely depressed and don't know what to do. I don't know if I can pursue my new g/f any longer... I just don't know what to do! Please Help

the way you posted your hsv1  and hsv2 igg results are both negatives, not even close to the equivocal range.

I could be wrong, but

.9-1.1 (not .11) is equivocal

1.1-5 positive

5+ definitely positive

.11 is very low. even 1.5 is low and warrants retesting

The thing is, you need to wait 3 months for antibodies to show up on the igg test and so 2 weeks is not enough time.

no..   .05 is negative and .11 is considered equivocal which means its right above the absolute negative of .90 but it isn't considered absolute positive til you reach 1.10. Although it's far away from positive it still isn't negative and im freakin out!

.05 and .11 would not be in the equivocal range, am I reading that right?
