autoinoculation

hello , i am 14 years of age and i have had cold sores since i was really young and the other day i was looking in my mouth and happened to touch the cold sore and the slaiva in my mouth and then right after i carelessly touched my vaginal area. Is it posssible i have spread herpes to my genitals now? I heard autoinoculation is very rare but i still wanted to be sure.

You aren't going to give yourself hsv1 genitally this way. Your body already has significant protection against contracting hsv1 on other body parts plus it takes far more than just touching the genital area to get herpes there.

http://www.ashastd.org/herpes/herpes_learn_oralherpes.cfm  is a terrific link for more reading on hsv oral infections just to further educate yourself on your cold sores :)

I'd read some sources over internet said that if your body already had the antibody for HSV-1, then you probably would not get autoinoculation.
