burning sensation prior to urinating

I'm a 26 year old male.  I recently received oral sex from someone I met at a bar.  I put on a condom first but after a while she took it off.  Being inebriated, I stupidly didn't bother.  The entire time with the condom off wasn't that long overall (under a minute).  This was 16 days ago.

The symptoms I have been experiencing over the last few days to half week:
- burning/itching in tip of penis (around opening of urethra); more so prior to urination and somewhat eases with urination
- pain in testicles (increased over the last couple days)
- slight lower back discomfort (not really pain); more so on right side
- raised red bumps (very small; look at them with magnifiers on; but still somewhat visual with the naked eye);  they look similar to this picture (http://en.allexperts.com/q/Venereal-Diseases-2106/2011/8/raised-bumps-under-penis.htm); have been constant over the last 4 days (no growth in size, no discharge)
- opening of urethra looks inflammed

Symptoms I HAVE NOT experienced:
- extreme pain during urination
- large blisters
- fever, swollen glands (in any region), fatigue
- discharge from penis

Other information:
- circumsized
- wear boxer briefs

Can you please help me figure this out?  I can provide more info if you like. Just ask.

I won't be able to see my doctor for a few weeks so this is more so for my sanity.

you need to be seen today or tomorrow and deal with this. letting any infection go for a few weeks isn't in your best interest. find a clinic to be seen at promptly and follow up properly on this.

this doesn't sound like genital herpes but your future fertility may depend on you treating this promptly and properly as well as the longer you are in pain, the more likely you are to develop a long term pain issue so it's in many ways the best thing to follow up now on this.

Thanks Grace.

I will be going to a walk-in clinic asap.
What size would herpes blisters be?

they vary in size but would be noticeable and at the very least, tender to touch.

Thanks.  Appt is tomorrow (cant wait!).  These red bumps are diffused around the glans rim (approx. 0.25 - 0.75mm - had to look with loupes). No pain from them (more so itchiness from within and more so when leading up to urination).   The itchiness has gone down in the last couple days (I've been drinking more fluids and cranberry juice).  Is it possible to get herpes sores inside the shaft?  Or would that be extremely painful?

Thanks again grace.

having herpes lesions inside the urethra is very painful.

these don't sound at all like herpes going on. they sound as much like pearly papules as anything though they could be a fungal infection or irritation too.

Yep. The doctors appt made it worse. Haha. He was puzzled by the symptoms.  Said the herpes is on the list of diagnoses but "it would be too late anyway".  I've been given some topical creams. Don't know how if this is going to help. And the anxiety goes way up. Haha.

I know this might be a trivial question but what is the transmission risk from Oral to Genital?

Also, wouldn't this be mild for a primary outbreak?  The doctor did say I would have had a fever and flu like symptoms, which is comforting since I didn't have any of those.

Sorry for the double post.

The topical cream is  fucidin (fusidic acid + hydrocortisone cream)

topical steroids shouldn't be used on herpes lesions. that said, since it's not likely these aren't herpes, no reason not to use them ( hope that makes sense...lol ).

continue to follow up with your provider as needed for symptoms.

Thanks Grace!

I'll likely followup if there are more questions. Knowing me, there will be. Lol.

Thanks again.

Just out of curiosity, what would happen with steroids on a herpes sore?

it makes the herpes virus more active.

it's actually how they get mice in the lab to have herpes recurrences to test medications on, they give them steroids to trigger the virus to reoccur.

Hey Grace,

I guess I'm back (sorry).  So the steroid cream didnt make anything more active (would it have been within a few hours/days and more noticeable)?  But the itchiness didnt die down.

So I figured I needed to get some sort of antifungal until I got to see my regular physician.  Anyway, I got tinactin spray (the one in the aerosol can).  I sprayed it on my glands at a fairly close distance.  It did sting a bit.

Anyway, the next day. I have a red rash/sore mark on my penis near by my glans on the shaft.  It doesnt itch and isnt sore (I actually dont even feel it unless I rub my finger over it).  IF this were a herpes sore, would it be more noticeable pain/discomfort-wise?

Again, sorry for all the questions.  Im just an anxious person.
