hello grace you seem very well informed. can i ask you a question? what is is the chance of transmitting hsv-1 and hsv-2 by giving a man unprotected blowjob?
TAhye contact also included kissing. I have a little tingling red place on my lip that a noticed a couple of days after the expsoure. It has been 11 days since I noticed it and it has not changed. However I am concerned.
i am going in to be checked and I am going to talk to her about it.
you would ask them if they have any std's, how they get tested for them and if they know if herpes testing was included in the testing. all questions that should be routinely asked prior to any sort of naked, intimate contact actually.
this was really low risk and we don't even recommend any testing from it. the only reason I even recommended herpes testing is because you've never been tested for it before. it's part of being sexually responsible to know your std status, including your herpes status.
No. What would I ask them?
typically you contract hsv1 orally from romantically kissing someone. you can contract it from performing oral sex but the odds of such are very low. folks who have hsv1 genitally tend not to shed the virus very much and it doesn't transmit easier to the oral area just because it prefers that area more.
you have listed your age as 64. 80% of folks your age have hsv1. about 30-40% have hsv2. odds are you already have at least 1 type of herpes.
instead of worrying, have you tried contacting the person in question and talking to them?
No. I thought I would get tested in about 3 or 4 weeks as I think that time would be needed to get a rasonable test result. Is that right?.
I suppose the chances are much higher that I could get hsv1?
it's not likely you contracted hsv2 orally from performing oral on someone.
have you ever been tested to know your own status?
grace
