Hi there,
Read this previous post. It'll totally help put your fears aside re: you performing oral sex on her.
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/Questions-about-herpes-transmission/show/246525
yea i did. still havent found anything about vice versa. Just guys needing to use protection if a girl is going down on them.
did you read the handbook I recommended to you? it's free to read online.

no i havent discussed it with her. i know shes done her research and she says that she doesnt want to tell me one thing and then have another thing happen. But i want to make sure its ok before we both go and do this and then regret it after or be terrified during it. Sorry for so many questions ive been with her for a couple of months now and just dont want this to be a factor and be able to enjoy my time with her. Like i said im fine with regular sex because i do use condoms, but im very paranoid, yet want to hear that it will be ok to do oral if she asks for it.
your risk of contracting hsv2 orally is overall low. up to you if you want to use barrier protection for it or not.
have you discussed with her her going back on suppressive therapy to help protect you more?
grace
i do use condoms all the time. Just found out she hasn't been on therapy since she had her first and only outbreak about 2 years ago. But like i was saying would it be ok to perform oral sex on her?
if you do nothing but avoid sex during obvious symptoms on her, you are 96% likely each year NOT to contract hsv2 from her. If she takes daily suppressive therapy and you use condoms, you are 99% likely NOT to contract hsv2 from her.

so are you saying i could potentially get HSV-2 then? and how low is the risk? i've tried reading all over the internet about this but it was always the opposite way around. it was always the woman worried about getting it from the guy.
im not sure if she takes daily suppressive therapy.
hsv1 never turns into hsv2. they are 2 totally different infections.
could contract hsv2 orally? you could but the risk is low.
does your partner take daily suppressive therapy?
the herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a terrific and free resource if you haven't read it already.
