confused about herpes

is an hsv 2 igg of 1.4 in may and then an igg of 1.3 in september likely to be false positive? i am hsv1 negative. i've never had a sore or lesion and have only had sex with one person. ive never had any symptoms except back in april i had a uti that was misdiagnosed and i was on about 4 antibiotics which gave me vaginal irriation for about 2 months which included itching burning and redness. since july i always get a pretty bad itch all over my vagina and anal area which lasts for about one week and it tingles all over and always occurs about 5 or 6 days after my period ends. does this sound like herpes? what should i make of this? should i get a biokit or WB or just accept i have herpes?

I agree with your doctor.  Two low positives followed by a negative indicates lack of infection.  I don't think you need retesting, no.

Hi terri, I still haven't been able to get the WB due to the cost. However, I had another blood test 2 weeks ago  which was sent to quest labs this time and my igg was 0.25. My gyno assures me I am negative because of the two low positives and this negative result. What is your opinion? Do I need more testing?

You have an interesting and confusing history.  Has your one sexual partner been tested for HSV 2?  If your partner is negative for HSV 2, that would simplify matters.  If your partner hasn't been tested or cannot be tested for some reason, then I would most definitely recommend that you get a herpes western blot.  Forget the Biokit.  Run your western blot through Quest labs if its available, test code 34534.  Recently, I've heard that LabCorp will also run this test through the University of Washington as well - I don't know the test code.  Local labs will be more challenging, perhaps.  But DO NOT settle for this positive - get it confirmed, and let me know, OK?
