could it be false positive???

my name is miracle I'm fifteen years old and I went to get tested a couple of weeks ago and my results came back positive for herpes
hsv 1 and 2 specific ab igg
hsv 1 igg <0.91
hsv 2 igg 15.40
hsv igm 1/2 <0.91
what does this mean???? :(

Never an outbreak, ok that is interesting.

Sexual activity. Have you had penetrative sex? I appreciate it may be too sensitive to answer so leave it there and follow up with your doctors if you wish.

I hope it's negative.

If not, though, please know it's not the end of the world. People live happy lives with herpes all the time.

Yes they would be accurate but maybe they mixed up the hsv1 and 2 numbers. Since you tested negative twice in feb, do yourself a big favor and have one more test and if you can have th Western Blot test, that would be the best for final confirmation.

so the results are accurate? I tested in February twice and they were both negative & I tested for it because my new doctor wanted to make sure I didn't have an std & no I haven't had any ob

The test result shows that you have been infected with HSV2. This is quite conclusive unless there has been a lab error, mixed sample etc. Let's explore all possibilities.

Why did you test? Did you have symptoms you were worried about and where? Have you ever had genital related symptoms such as sores?

If you have had sexual intercourse, then it is likely that a partner had the virus and infected you. Have you ever been sexually active?
