follow up with the blood testing since biopsy isn't always accurate.
do you have a regular partner?

by the way, the reason my dermatologist did a biopsy was because my symptoms were so atypical of HSV that he, and three other HCP's, were certain it was not HSV or anything venereal.
the blisters first appeared as pigmented skin that looked like moles. what we were trying to rule out with a biopsy was a melanoma.
thanks for your input grace.
I believe the generalized adenopathy you have is due to other things. Like I said, I think you have more than just herpes going on. it is still the time of the year when so many germs are so common to boot.

what should i do in the mean time? just wait? finding out what type of HSV i have is not my primary concern at this point (do you think it should be?). my main concern is the generalized adenopathy i currently have.
at this point a type specific herpes igg blood test is the next course of action. it might not have all the answers as to type right now but if you haven't had one yet, it's a start.
skin biopsy's aren't the most accurate way to diagnose herpes. they should've done a lesion culture. the biopsy only looks for multinucleated giant cells to be present and that's not the most accurate way to diagnose herpes.
herpes will not cause sharp stabbing abdominal pains. see your provider if that continues.
honestly it sounds like you have several things going on at one time :( It might take some time to figure this all out unfortunately.

thanks for the reply.
it was only a skin biopsy. i did not do any other type of testing and the biopsy does not indicate if it is hsv1 or hsv2. i am just so anxious that i have been searching the net and inspecting myself quite a bit. i have some education in health assessment so i know how to properly palpate lymph nodes.
two other symptoms i forgot to mention are a strange feeling in my left leg. almost like a tingling feeling but not quite. its also a feeling of restlessness. i have the same feeling(s) in my sacral region. i also have a sharp, stabbing pain in my lower abdomen, predominantly in the lower right quadrant. ibuprofin seems to help. oh and i also have a sore throat since yesterday.
did you have any herpes igg blood testing done at the time or just a lesion culture of your genital symptoms? was your lesion culture hsv1 or hsv2+?
you have no reason to suspect you have hiv.
