does lysine help supress viral shedding/spreading of oral herpes?

I have been taking lysine every day to help avoid oral herpes outbreaks, it is also supposed to help decrease healing time and severity of cold sore outbreaks.

does this also help limit asymptomatic viral shedding? I am wondering if it can help prevent me spreading it to someone else like Valtrex would do for someone with it genitally

thank you.

I read that there is a technique which activates the herpes virus to the surface and then zap it into remission. Are you familiar with this study?

actually lysine doesn't do much at all for herpes.  we don't recommend it here.  The only doses that showed any effectiveness at all was the 1gm 3x/day dose.

There are no studies on lysine and shedding of herpes.  If transmission is a concern, you need to be on one of the 3 herpes antivirals suppressively instead.
