does seamen spread herpes

Hi! i had sex with my girl and four days later experiences what i know know as my first herpes outbreak.  I do not know if she is the carrier or where i got it from.  This was my first sexual experience after 3 months of brealk up from my girlfriend of 2 years.

While we used a condom for sex, we did not when she performed oral sex on me. I ejaculated and she spat it out.
1. Could she be the person who has infected me
2. If she is not the carrier, what is the chance of her getting infected
Appreciate your answer

well yes seamen do spread herpes if they are infected however semen isn't really the issue, it's the skin to skin contact of the sex act that is the issue. There are documented cases of artificial insemination transmitting hsv2 but those are few and far between. if the contact you are concerned about is semen on your partner's leg or something, not an issue for infection.

definitely find out what your partner's exact test results are. from the way you posted, I'm a bit suspicious that she has non-type specific testing done.

next time you have any genital symptoms, be seen within 48 hours of their appearance so you can get a proper exam and also a viral culture for herpes done , preferably a pcr swab if you can.

Can you get the values of your testing for Grace to look at.  She will be able to give you a better idea on the testing.  IE: HSV-1 0.34 HSV-2 3.0

To answer your question seamen doesn't spread HSV.  It is spread with skin to skin contact.  It is then rubbed in with friction and body heat.  So even if you use a condom during sex there is a chance you can still get HSV.

Grace is right if you had HSV-1 and it is oral you aren't likely to get it genitially.  Now you do have a risk for HSV-2.

My partner did get tested her IgG and Igm was equivocal. does that mean that she has had prior exposure.?  Now I am really confused. How do i ensure that my genital hsv 1 does not pose a risk to someone i date?

your blood testing you had done was not helpful at all. It was non-type specific testing.

you already have cold sores which are almost always hsv1 orally. You aren't likely to contract hsv1 genitally later on.

You actually at this point have absolutely no idea what was going on genitally to be honest.

I am a bit confused about the results and the intrepetition.  do these results mean that i have had both type 1 and type 2 in the past and now have a new infection of both of them?

Since my first post, i have been re examining my past.  I am now aware that i have had cold sores in the past and once, two months ago had a small gential lesion, however, it went away in 3 days,  i was under the impression then that it was due to oral sex.

I met this girl recently, and do not know if she has ever been tested for Herpes.  i have brought up the topic with her and we are going for tests tomorrow.

People should be warned.. ORAL SEX is not SAFE !!!!
