the herpeselect is a type of igg testing - it's a specific brand like coke is a brand of cola. make sense?
you never needed the testing done that you had done even . don't stress yourself out with more testing - move on past this encounter.
Kindly help me guys. I have been tested for hsv2 and not hsv1. Doctor said that i dont have herpes. Is it reliable??
I also have a small doubt. Is the herpeselect test and igG test one and the same or they both differ???
Do you recommend any other tests or shall i stop worrying. Am i completely free?
there was no reason for any hiv or herpes testing from this encounter.
Ige testing wasn't proper testing for std testing. no idea why you had it done.
herpes igm tests are very flawed and we don't recommend them being done. most are not type specific either which makes them less han useful.
your hsv2 igg is negative.
grace
Can u comment on my reports please?
what do u mean by worthless?? Are they wrong tests?
Your IgM testing was worthless. For the other test I can't answer. I will defer to grace.
I just got my results for hsv igg tests. Its clear for me to some extent. I hope you can help me to understand my results better. Am posting my results .... HSV II IgG ANTIBODIES 0.27
HSV IgM ANTIBODIES 0.32
IgE 107/lu/ml
Doctor said that am normal and i dont need further testing. He said that this test is for herpes. Doctor also said that there is no need for hiv testing since i engaged in oral sex. Its been 75 days now. So am i free from all possible STDs?? Do i need any further testing. Kindly advise me.
thanks for your replies. i will get my test results on Saturday. i have another small doubt . Are there any chances of transmitting herpes from re used needles if it is used earlier for any other hiv or herpes patient.
I just recieved my results IGG HSV-1 NEGATIVE 0.862 AND HSV-2 NEGATIVE 0.550, I dont understand this as I had a coldsaw when I was little, which surely would mean Id test positive for HSV-1?
You need to post on the HIV forum for anything specific to that.
An IgG type specific blood test will tell you your herpes status for both HSV1 and HSV2. If you've never been tested before, and the current test comes back positive, you have no way of knowing when you acquired it (most of us with oral herpes acquired it in childhood).
