red spots on head of penis

I am a married 41 year old male, aug 29th I developed 2 red spots on the head of my penis, its lasted about 4 days and went away, the following week it came back and this time there were 3 red spots....it went away after a few days now it comes back every week and everytime there are more red spots and it lasts longer each time, right before it goes away the spots get dry and the skin peals and they are shiny. currently I have 4 red spots around the rim and one at the tip (all about the size of a paencil eraser ) and as of this morning looks like II am getting one on my shaft.....I am getting a STD test today, there are no open sores, no pain no burning, no discharge and no itching. Actually dont even know its there. I have not had sex since middle of May, except for masturbation but have quit that since this has started...also in november of last year I had herpes of the eye for 6 weeks and a vasectomyany insight would be appreciated

UPDATE - Finally went to a dermotologist and can you believe it.....Psoriasis, I was prescribed a cream used it that night and when I got up in the morning it was 95% gone and within a week it was completely gone.....It does come back slighty after sex, due to friction, but apply some cream and it goes away in a day.....been 20 days now and totally clear.

If you are getting genital symptoms, be seen by a doctor. If they suspect herpes, they can swab it and you can get a prompt answer.

Red bumps that peel off in the penis can be a number of things, including herpes. Herpes would not reccur that often (every week).
