endless outbreak

hello, i have had genital herpes for 10 years.  for most of that time, it has been reasonably manageable.  unfortunately, i have had a (more or less) continual outbreak for the past 5 months.  i have been taking valtex twice daily for most of that time. i have taken it once daily for years and it seems like it has completely stopped working.  is this common?  i have also been supplementing with a lysine rich diet, as well as lysine caps.  i try to maintain an alkaline ph, and i also have been experimenting with colloidal silver, a topical application of lemon balm and various other immune boosters.  every time i think i have beat it into remission, it comes back within a day or so.  i do not have health insurance, and could use some good advice.  if you have any other options i should try please let me know.  i am so tired of this.

you need to go and be seen and get properly examined and also tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally. bv especially is known to make herpes more active and it doesn't always present with obvious odor or discharge which is why proper testing is worthwhile. You can be seen at your local planned parenthood which charges on a sliding scale or call your local health department to see what other local low cost/no cost options are in your area.

no, your body did not become immune to valtrex. The rates of valtrex resistance are low in general and your symptoms sound more like something else going on to boot.

thanks you for the response grace.  i am female.  what do you think could affecting me me, if  not herpes?  my last sexual interaction was over a year ago.  i was not having any unusual outbreak patterns previous to the start of this.  and then it came, and absolutely refuses to leave.  tingling, itching are present at pre-dome state.  not all lesions open.  i work in an extremely hot environment, and i know that is not helping. . .
i started trying all these alternatives to my suppressive treatment because it stopped having any effect on my situation.  is it possible that my body has become immune to valtex?
i am very curious as to what you think may be going on. . .

thank you

I removed your other post since it's a repeat of this one. Not sure if you reposted it or if it was a computer glitch.

lysine doesn't do much at all for herpes. we don't recommend it's use here at all for herpes.

At this point I'd stop everything but the daily suppressive therapy in case you are having a skin reaction to one of the things you are applying to your skin at this point.

Odds are this isn't your herpes going on 5 months non-stop.  Are you male or female?
