help with interpreting HSV antibodies IgM and IgG

Greeting,

I am a 28 year old feamle. Have been healthy my entire life. I practiced celibacy from 2011 until recently when I became seually active again - monogamous relationship. I recenlty had a full STD panel. Everything came back negative.  However my HSVI/II IgM anti-body was equvicol at 1.0. At that time my HSV 1 IgG 0.08 and my HSV 2 IgG 0.19. (Both neg). I immediately went into a panic about the equvicol vaule I recived. Therefore, 5 days later I repeated my bloodwork.

This time my HSVI/II/ IgM antibodies increased to 1.13!  My IgG antibodies for HSV 1 rose by a tenth of a point (0.08-0.10) and My HSV2 remained the same- both proved to still be NEG. Could someone please give me advice. I was doing research and found that IgM testing gives off a plethra of false positives. Should I get another blood test? Or should I start treatment for this? I've been with the same person for 8 months. If i were postive for this disease shouldnt I have a positive IGG as well? Im confused. Please help!

First off igm tests are useless and no std expert recommends them. Even the cdc is against igm testing for hsv in adults. Like you said, false positives are common. Very common. I spend a great deal of time on this forum on igm testing and false positives. I bet I get at least 4-5 a week.
Bottom line, don't trust or stress over igm test results. You shouldn't have been given the test to begin with. Just go on with your life as you don't have hsv because you don't.
I hope this helps a little.
