herpes and std
my boyfriend developed a sore on his penis a day after we had sex . I went in for my annual checkup and had a pap smear 2 wks ago . Would a pap smear detect any std's or herpes? I'm thinking it is due to friction from having a lot of sex. Weve been seeing each other 2 months now and didnt use any protection.(i know, bad choice on both our part)but whats done is done.
A pap test isn't std testing. A pap test looks for abnormal cervical cells.
you and your partner will both need to seek out type specific herpes igg blood tests to see who has what and go from there. odds are that neither of you have ever been tested for herpes before.
