herpes post-exposure prophylaxis

I was recently exposed to HSV-2, close contact but no intercourse.  I recently lost 3 family members and the stress of contracting herpes might put me over the edge.  I realize this has probably made me overly paranoid about contracting the virus, however, I'm considering post-exposure prophylaxis with Famciclovir.  Is there any reason not to proceed (beyond the fact that it is considered "off-label" and not proven to suppress the virus)?

it's far too late for it to be of any use, not that we have research showing that is has any use anyways in this situation.   if you are basing your wanting to do this on the wikipedia article that says that it works, that article is greatly flawed , only listed animal studies and not any of the follow up human studies that showed that it made no difference.

the risk of you contracting herpes from a one time encounter that didn't include sex is far too low to even make it worth worrying about let alone trying to treat to be honest.
