herpes related

i am currently deployed to afghanistan. i know being in this country my immune system has weakend. every since i got here 4 months ago my herpes symptoms want stop. i was diagnosed with hsv 2 over 4 years ago. when im in the United States i may have 2 breakouts a year. i dont get blisters, but the tingling feeling want go away and there are small bumps on my vagina. i have tried lysine and vitamin c to boost my immune system but it doesnt work. im not on any medication because i never needed it. what can i take over the counter or herbal meds to make the virus lie dormant? is this normal to have a breakout for 4 months straight with no relief?

Again, the fact that you are having constant symptoms, speaks against the likelihood that these symptoms are being caused by herpes since it is very typically intermittent.  Are you able to get some over the counter yeast medicine to see if that might be helpful?  I can't imagine trying to do your job over there with these very annoying symptoms going on!  There are no reliable herpes medicines that you can take that are over the counter, at least they wouldn't be OTC here.  Do you have access to something like acyclovir there to try?

it could be a yeast infection as well because i have an odor also. i think it is herpes also because of the constant tingling and prickly feeling that has been going on for 4 months now and i have small pimple like bumps on my vagina that stay for 2 weeks then crust over and go away but comes back after about 2 weeks. going to the doctor isnt a choice i have right now. i will be back in the states in a few month i will definately go then.herpes for me isnt constant in the states but everysince i got here it want go away. is there anything i can take over the counter or do in the meantime untill i get back home? is there a reason why i cant stop having outbreaks over here?

I'm thinking maybe these symptoms are really being cause by herpes?  Herpes symptoms are episodic, they aren't constant.  Are there health care providers who can examine you there?  Could you have a yeast infection?  Bacterial vaginal infection?
