Red marks on lip after coldsores.

Hello.
I really need some advice. I've got a big red mark on my lip after a cold sore went. I've had this mark now for about 4 weeks. It's not really showing any signs of improvement.
I've tried treating it with Pure vitamin E oil but no improvement. I've also been treating it with Pertrolium jelly and dove pro-age, none of these seems to get away the redness of ideally cure it.
Please can you give me any advice and guidance, or share anything that you know that i might find benifical on this subject. Things like products and how and when to apply them. Or even if you know how long it will be there, and if it will ever go away.
Thanks in advance.

I really can't imagine being THAT vain that you'd stay home for 6 weeks because of a red mark from a cold sore :(  Really - none of us have perfect complexions.

This is probably way more visible to you than to anyone else.  If you are still bothered by it, see a dermatologist for suggestions at this point.

hi sorry for keeping posting this, i'm kinda desperate to get rid of this mark, until it's gone i'm staying at home hiding from the world and i can't do this forever.
it's been about six weeks since my cold sores first appeared so i've been staying home a lot and avoiding going out when it's sunny as they are most visible then.
Thanks for your support.

You've asked this question repeatedly now on several forums over the course of several weeks.  I'm not sure what else you expect us to tell you that we haven't already told you?  Go see a dermatologist for further advice if you aren't happy with the answers you've been getting here online.

Also our posting policy is to just keep adding to your original post and not starting new posts every single time. thank you for your future cooperation with this.

Unfortunately HSV1 sores can leave behind quite marked scars for some weeks, please when you have an outbreak try not to pick and pull at the sores when they are healing  as this causes more trauma to the skin,I don't know of anything that will help this other than time itself, however Aloe Vera Gel has many skin healing properties you might like to try that once the outbreak starts to scab over ....
