Do I Have Herpes?

I have had ongoing problems since november of 2009. At first it started out feeling like i had somthing in my urethra, almost like there was urine in there and not all of it would come out. Next,  in december the left side of my penis swelled up after masterbation and then went back down the next day, the swelling continued on and off until, I received dyoxycycline for a treatment. Although, it has not swollen again i have still had pain in the muscle of my penis and inbetween my scrotum and anus. Also, on the side of my penis, where the swelling was, the skin is more wrinkled and there is a slight redish color to it. I have also received cypro antibiotics and it seem to help alittle but not totally remove the pain or clear the culprit. Since november of 09 to current, the symptoms remain the same and constant, muscle pain in the penis, pain in between my scrotum and anus that feels feverish ever so often, testiculer pain and the redish area from the swelling. These symptoms are constant and have not went away since they started. I have tested for HIV, HEP C, Hsv 2 and Hsv 1. <.90 on both and negitive on the HIV and Hep C. Im on month 6-7 since my exposure in october, in which i had dated and recieved oral sex and our genital areas touched. My partner has said they have nothing, but what am i supposed to think. do i have herpes? can a herpes out brake last 6 months and show negitive on a type specific Igg test? Should Hsv 2 even show up on my Igg herpes blood test, if i dont have it. Also, the pain feels better when i masterbate to releive the symptoms.I have had no discharge from my penis and no sores. The worst of it is the swelling and muscle pain and the feverish pain inbetween my scrotum and anus. Can an infected hemrroid cause this problem? Please help me?

Yes, I believe that you are in the clear.
No test is 100% perfect, but I think you should trust these results and move on with your life.

Thank you for your response. Yes it does. So if the Igg type specific blood test is <.90 at 4 months and at 6 months, then the nightmare of thinking i have herpes should over. Again it was the type specific Igg Herpes blood test done at 4 and 6 months, both <.90.

Thank you for your time and caring response.

Thank you

How long after the exposure did you have the HSV 1 and 2 antibody testing done?  If it was at least 4 months, then I would believe the testing and move on from your worries about herpes.

Your symptoms suggest some prostate infection possibilities.  The prostate glad is located between the scrotum and anus, and I would strongly suggest that you visit your health care provider and have a prostate exam and evaluation.  The dose of doxycycline that you had may not have been the right antibiotic or taken long enough to resolve possible prostate problems.

Does that help answer your question?
