history of boils - herpes ?

hello,

about a month ago i had a large pimple on my inner thigh that almost looked like a small boil. i was concerned that it could be something else. i occasionally break out with boils on my face/head once every 6 months. i also have had cysts removed from my head.

i've had the same sexual partner for 4 months. two weeks ago i had a sexual encounter with a friend that included brief unprotected sex and unprotected oral.

my normal sexual partner and i have regular protected sex with condoms and unprotected oral sex.

today i've noticed red soreness bump almost at the bottom of the shaft of my penis. all most feels like a paper cut. i believe this area would typically be covered up during vaginal sex by a condom.

at any rate i'm really stressed and concerned especially after reading this forum.

thx.

in looking at it a little bit further it almost looks/feels like a bruise. the night before my partner gave me a hand job and she does have long finger nails i wonder if thats the case ? it almost looks like it's healing today. although still a little tender.

i will go forward with the test.

odds are that you and your partners have never been tested for herpes. while it's on your mind, you can get a baseline herpes igg blood test  now and then repeat it 4 months after your last encounter with a different partner. also be seen for your new symptoms to see if they can get a lesion culture done on them.

do you follow up with a dermatologist for your boils issues?

your regular partner should also be tested for herpes to know their own status too so that you know if you have to be concerned or not.

just a fyi - condoms do not cover all the areas that herpes sheds from. also they only reduce transmission of the virus by 30% on average.
