HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS 1+2 (HSV) Test lab report

Among other things , comment in a lab report reads

""Rising IgG antibody titres in acute and convalescent specimen indicate recent HSV infection"

Readings apart , in the context of HSV2, is the above statement correct ?  If not what should the statement read or rephrased  to reflect factual reality ?

The issue at hand is not one of  a specific case but, but general remarks that appear in all reports. The view held is that IgM readings ,( not IgG)  that  relate to Recent infection .  I am looking for a clarification from an authoritative source for a correction if necessary..

if you want help with your test results, feel free to post the actual results here so I can best help you - e.g. hsv 1 igg 7.7 and hsv2 igg .44 or whatever they are.

changes in herpes results are often  meaningless. I can best help you if you post the results :)
