I recently learned that at some point in time I came in contact with hsv2, currently dormant.  Can I have sexual intercourse.

i am very confused about this also. i never had a breakout or any symptoms and was place on Valtrex. Should I do the same by getting the Western blot or the biokit?

It's a numeric result. It has no meaning other than positive or negative and you are in the grey area and need to confirm it .

Thank you, I will.  Can you tell if a 3.93 positive # is considered to be a high number or low?

Since you haven't had any obvious symptoms you should confirm your hsv2 igg with another test - either the herpes western blot ( WB ) or a herpes hsv2 biokit test to see if it's accurate or not.

Tested and diagnosed.  To my knowledge, I have not had any outward symptoms.  Just this morning I learned the positive # is 3.93, they were not able to tell me if this is IgM or IgG and that this was not an active infection.  Is this a high or low number?  I also requested to start suppressive therapy with Valtrex.

Coming in contact doesn't mean you have it. Were you actually tested and diagnosed? What were the results?

But to answer your question, yes of course people with herpes can have sexual intercourse!
