my story... sad but true

I am hoping this is not deleted as I want to share my situation in hopes of helping others...

exposure... back in early March of this year I had a condom protected vaginal exposure which lasted about 30 seconds with an ex gf...
prior to this encounter I had on multiple occasions tested negative for hsv...

symptoms... beginning 2 mos after exposure everything ranging from  flu-like symptoms, thrush, sore throat, etc. to penis redness and irritation (which comes and goes) and daily nausea which continues to this day... had some blisters at the base of my penis for a week and then they disappeared...

tests... at 10 weeks had full panel all negative including hsv.. at 17 weeks herpeselect igg negative... at at 20 weeks and 24 weeks same test both positive...

other... before I realized fully that I had hsv2 I had been examining myself daily... at some point I remember doing it and my 3 yr old daughter being brought in with a horrible diaper mess, etc... before I thought about it I was cleaning her up and realized I hadn't washed my hands... gross I know but it happens... a month later she broke out with a severe rash for a couple weeks and had a high fever for a couple days... also had pink eye... eventually it cleared up and she just had lingering outbreaks on her arms and legs apparently from autoinoculation which still continue... last week she had a puffy eyelid and we took her to the doctor... after visual exam did swab off ob on arm and later confirmed she had hsv2... presumably from my poor hygiene...
I would mention also that my daughter is never out of the care of either my wife or I...

before we realized what was happening to her my 16 yr old daughter who carries her around all the time came up with some odd outbreaks on her arms... doc did visual exam thought look suspicious but no swab for whatever reason but ordered a blood test for 8 weeks out... awaiting that... she has not been sick really but generally more tired than usual...

my point here is to caution that while my situation may not be the rule it can happen...
low to no risk exposture...
testing negative at 4 mos then testing positive later...
transmitting via fingers and NOT from molestation...
possiblely transferring it to a non-membrane area like the arm...
and atypical symptoms...

the reality is that hsv is kind of its own animal and it's not always cut and dry on symptoms, testing and transmission, etc...

just be aware and be careful...

I already stated the tests and results in my very first post... reread what I wrote... I'm not going to continue to restate it so you can call me a liar... I didn't come here to argue or disparage medhelp... I came here hurting over my family situation and wanting to share it and help others... for you to continue to assert that the only way a child can contract hsv is through child molestation is not helpful and indeed hurtful to other parents who are in the same situation and need help...

There is still no credibility in the story, How have you been confirmed with HSV2, what testing and what results? How have the children been diagnosed with HSV2?

Although it is a bit late now to establish that crediblity. You're better off assembling a through case study with medical oversight than this ramble.

I know soap and water kills the virus but i've never read anything about diaper wipes doing it...

apparently... I use baby wipes also but I'm sure there is some skin contact... rubbing on diaper cream, etc,... I know it's rare and it shouldn't happen but it did... my wife does not have it because we haven't been together since my exposure and my daughter is only in our care so she had to get it from me... horrible... if you search different "mommy" type blogs you will find it does happen... not just through genital/genital contact...
my exposure was brief and very little skin contact but I got it...
I think we underestimate the hsv... I know I did...

So are you telling me you had contacted your own atypical shedding and transferred it to your hand and then to your daughter? Even when I would change my daughters diaper I never had skin to skin contact with her genitals. Baby wipes only?

my guess is if situations like mine we're more welcome on medhelp you would probably find I am not alone...
