new concern

i recently got diagnosed with prostatitis. i haven't masterbated in a very long time nor been sexually active. any who, more recently i have noticed red spots on my penis. i get the odd itch or twinge you could say and flaky skin. i don't get what this is. my penis usually goes white around the head & flaky before but this is happening without any sexual activity. the spots aren't blistered. not sure if i should be seeing a doctor or what not. i saw enough so far so i am trying not too but if this is a concern i should address i will go see one. i got a specialist in just over a month in June. i am trying to get back too my old life but its irritating and concerns me when seeing flaky penis. i didn't want too use my visa card over the internet so i didn't post in the std forum. i been told its not herpes thankfully enough times though i never been checked for it. i have only had oral sex ever and from my girlfriend. does this sound like anything i should be concerned about please & thanks.

hey guys,
i been trying to chill out and give everyone a break. i haven't seen a doctor since the last time i mentioned too you. the medication i been using has come to an end. i never did purchase the lamasile cream however, i am going to. i been running lately and i maybe chafing myself this way. my pills for the prostatitis have finished and i haven't yet got the refill. do you suggest i get it? again i have no medical coverage. i have spent quite a bit of money, still currently unemployed. if you all suggest i go through with it, i will. the last doctor, Dr. Vaughn & Dr. Kinsmen were telling me that they believed it was jock rash. it was the first time i had received a similar report. everyone was telling me it was nothing, in my head or a skin rash. so, i mean if it costs me another hundred bucks, i suppose i should pay it. does running with prostatits cause any injury or problem? my doctor said no but with jock rash or something similar, is it at all counter productive to be active? she said with the type of rash it stays in one area and get better but it can reappear in the region. i been really awful with this, with everyone around me including family and friends.

in another unrelated topic, having gone through this, my buddy just recently had a scare. he was freaking out late one night and i use my experience plus the advise you guys gave me and it really helped him through. i advise this website. thanks again for everything. i really appreciate it. if there was ever any way i could repay this generosity back i would be more then glad to. thank you so much.

so i woke up to some terrible discomfort & received a new prescription from my doctor for cream that was supposedly better cause clomatrodrim contains an ingredient that can cause irritation. any way, i was told lamasil pills are very good & better then the cream but my pharmacist says i cannot take these two medications together so i went to seek medical council as i didn't want to prolong this any further. i also have no medical coverage so i thought i would see what was suggested.

i went too see Mrs. Dr. Vaughn. she was extremely helpful. she suggested i fill the prescription. she deemed my rash & irritation to be much like "jock rash" but because of prostatitis it is hard to determine the difference between external & internal discomfort at times as its not diagnosed exactly how serious the prostatitis is. she then checked the rash area. i was saying how i have no sex drive or erections. now i will add Dr. Vaughn is definitely the most attractive doctor i've ever met. she moved the skin around i went hard for the first time in a long while. terribly embarrassing but quite happy to be doing much better. looking forward to getting better. she suggested the meds i am on will do me well and lamisil will better be of the area. thanks again for everything guys. cheers!

hey Jess,
thanks - i am in Canada. our province covers me & my parents are helping with medications and what not. i been going for walks. i usually run but i don't want too f around now despite the doctors saying i can. i take it your from the states so thats prob why they haven't blood tested me with that igG blood test or w.e. - but i will take on my specialist appoint. looking into Lamasil medication as to what it does. get my rents to get it for me.  thanks Grace - i am sure everyone - is getting pissed with me. i been too different clinics so testing is every where. i found it suspicious that when i last went too the courtice clinic, the had no record of my tests when they checked the date works - my name never came up but apparently its at the board of health who contacts if necessary. but yah, i will check into this further. thanks Grace & Jess.

ps: the girl was ill so i prob never have let her give me oral sex. i think it was error in judgement on my part for sure. i feel a lot better though. i haven't had the rectum pain at all. frequent urination still and flaky penis head but better non the less. thanks again

Hey there -

You don't need to post in a different community (especially since I come over here too lol).

You are not bothering me, and you continue to post over there (I just answered a post from you.)

I am glad you posted over here because it reminded me of something.  You should apply for medicaid or whatever your state calls it.  If you have no medical insurance, you probably qualify for this.  Call your local health dept and ask about it.

Not just std's - it's bacterial infections in general that can be transmitted thru oral sex. The normal mouth flora isn't always so normal in the urogenital tract unfortunately.

Some folks do have very sensitive skin and react to the topical yeast creams. I know money is tight but why not ask for the oral diflucan pills instead for it?  It's available as a generic so it might even be cheaper than the prescription creams.

thanks Grace - i went too the doctor. Jess has been more then helpful. i created a new topic cause i didn't want too keep bothering her. there a lots of people that need help. i got info regarding my situation; prognosis being prostatitis & seeing a specialist in middle June. at the same time i had a concern regarding red & flaky skin which is scary but i got told with the medication & antibiotic creams i been providing that it is quite common. that it isn't herpes again which is a level 10 in discomfort - it can be itchy at times but doesn't blister or hurt. provided me cream. i been using fucidin and the yeast infection one girls tend too use but it irritates my skin. last female doctor told me it can do that. i have no medical coverage which sucks right now and got prescribed lamasil cream. curious as too what it does and what not. i am currently unemployed so i'll have too go talk with my rents as my cash flow is tight & funds are for school. any who, i appreciate everything. i am aware herpes and what not + other stds can be passed by oral. i was told by my GP that it is possible but the likeliness is minimal at best even with a random girl which this wasn't. sorry to bother you Grace, thanks for everything.

You can get infections from oral sex.  The only thing to do at this point is to continue following up with your provider regularly until things are better.
