not sure of herpes results

Hi
I had a sexual encounter where I rubbed my unprotected penis on a woman's vagina for about 5-10 minutes on October 4th.  On october 14 i noticed on the small vein under the head of the penis had a small red and wet scrape on it. it didn't look like an ulcer. more like how you would scrape your finger and it became wet after it started to heal. the scrape was a little under .25 inch long. not big. half a centimeter.  Also there were barely visible small red dots on the shaft of the head--the round mushroom loop around the head. the dots were above the scrape. on the 18th i had the scrape swabbed for herpeselect test.  that same day my wife had a yeast infection and she believes it might be the reason. so i started to put monostat on it. on sunday the dots and scrape were gone.  on monday herpes came back negative. now today, tuesday, the scrape has turned into a ulcer with yellow pus coming out when I pulled my fore skin back and squeezed it.  Could this be herpes recurring after my initial out break? Thanks in advance for your responses.

This doesn't sound much like herpes at all, more like an irritation or scratch that has become infected. Are you sure the small dots you are describing haven't always been there, such as fordyce spots, that you are noticing more and have become irritated with the infection?

Herpes sores are more likely to be a little reddish, raised slightly rough patch that has little bumps and blisters contained within.

A spell for me means at least a few weeks, some people report distinct breakouts just days apart.

Yes viral fluid is always clear. Of course a herpes sore can get bacterially infected subsequently. I just don't see this as your situation.

If you have concerns, then follow up testing at 12 weeks post the episode is a good idea.

The patches do not disappear when i press them, or stretch the skin.  What do you mean by a "spell between them." And last question, is herpes pus always clear?
Thanks again for taking your time in answering my questions.

You can get breakouts at any time although more typical to have a spell between them. If the sore didn't really have little blisters then it is difficult to suspect herpes and certainly difficult to capture it with a culture test. If the sore was into the healing stage then a lowish chance of detecting the virus.

Red patches? If you press them do they disappear and reappear if you know what I mean? Herpes lesions do not go away like that, its a red base that is there for a few days.

Thanks for your response.
The small red dots were not always there because now they are gone. I'm also noticing red patches starting to form on the head now. Would herpes return this quickly after and "outbreak?"  Also, how accurate would the herpes test be on a 4-5 day old sore.
