oral sex

Hi there.
I recently learned that i have the Genital Herpes hsv 2 virus. After reading a lot of questions and answers all over the internet, i am still not too sure if it safe or unsafe for me to perform oral sex to a non-infected person.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
Sebastien

Genital herpes is transmitted thru direct skin on skin contact with the genital area.  If your genital area isn't coming in contact with someone  then they aren't at risk. So yes, you can perform oral sex without a risk of transmitting your genital herpes.

The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is free and a terrific resource for more reading :)

If your have type 2 on your genitals then your ok to give oral sex to your male partner. If you have  type 2 on your mouth then no u shouldnt give a guy oral sex. Its possible he could catch type 2 from you if its on your mouth. Its very rare to get type 2 on your mouth. Usually type 1 is on your mouth only. I have heard that if you have type 1 on your mouth without any outbreaks you can still spread it orally.
