hello everyone, recently I took a blood test to check for herpes, the results was quite confusing since the numbers doesnt look like anything posted here, so i dont know if im negative or positive for hsv1 or 2. This is the results:
Herpes 1 IGG - Result 177.60 H - Reference Range - 0.00 - 20.00 RU/ml
Herpes 2 IGG - Result 97.60 H - Reference Range - 0.00 - 20.00 RU/ml
______________________
Herpes 1 IGM - Result 0.65 - Reference Range - NEG = 0.8 - 1.1
Herpes 2 IGM - Result 0.81 - Reference Range - NEG = 0.8 - 1.1
You had a test done that is not one that is done widely in the US so I"m sorry but I can not help you with your results. I am not familiar with the test to know the false positive/false negative rates to comment properly on it. Sorry I wish I could help more but I can't.
so my other blood test came back. Bear in mind i have never had an outbreak, but my gf recently did and she tested positive for both hsv1 and 2, that prompted me to take the test.
My results are:
HSV - 1:
igg - 1.95
igm - 0.80
HSV-2:
igg - 1.80
igm - 0.84
(Positive: >1.0)
so can i now say that im positive for hsv1 and hsv2 without a shadow of a doubt?
