Could really ise some imput as im havin an outbreak and mine typically run 2 to 2 1/2 weeks. Info to help also.. almost 8 weeks along, 25 years old, no way to see a doc, couldnt find info online. Do you have an ob/gyn? I'm concerned that you say you have no way to see a doctor.

Let your birth doctor know you have (I assume) genital herpes. A few weeks before your due date, your doctor will typically put you on a course of antivirals to reduce the risk of an outbreak in your birth canal during labor, and monitor you for symptoms.

Also, if you've had the virus longer than 4 months by your due date, you'll have generated antibodies to pass to your baby in the womb, adding an extra measure of protection.

If your current outbreak is causing discomfort, you're fine to take the antivirals.

using herpes antivirals during pregnancy has been given the okay by the american academy of gynecology.  you are allowed to treat ob's as they occur.

you also never, ever have to treat your herpes if you don't want to. you aren't harming your baby.

have you read the free herpes handbook yet? if not, be sure to do so. there is a section on herpes and pregnancy in it too.

congratulations on your pregnancy :)

Hi, suppressive therapy for hsv2 genital would be from 34-36 weeks until delivery. Whats also important if for your partner to get tested as well.
