Rekoa! I need some answers please!!! I fingered a women about two months ago but my hands have been different. Now I am about 2 months but I wear gloves. My hands sweat and this make my hands stink inside the gloves. But I ask you!!! Please do I have herpes whitlow!? My hands get dried from washing my hands. But now at two months. They are dry and cracking and I have a few blisters/little bubbles. Is this a sign of herpes? What more am I to expect?! If so, this is herpes is it hopping at a late stage!? I'm worried. I have sickness signs too but I am worried for my hands. Thank you. I tried to explain best i can. But my hands now are very dry and about to crack. Please and thank you!
Speaking from personal experience. Herpes Whitlow is one of the most PAINFUL things you can inflict on somebody.
Pray lady, pray like you never had in your life that this dude never wakes up in the morning with a little "tingling" in his finger tip. (no big deal) he will tell himself. Give it 48 hours. He will be screaming your name at lungs, as looks at his finger. What he will be looking at is pictured on the net (Google.images)
It don't look like much. (I wiil grant you that) But THIS IS WHY I AM WRITING THIS. As someone who will have this little experience for the rest of my life. (about every 2-3 years) His finger will like it is on fire for 4-8 days. Or think of that time you were hammering a nail and whacked your finger. BUT THE HURT DON'T STOP.
I usually call in sick for a week because, think about. This makes the inflicted hand useless. Anything touching that finger will send a electric shock up the arm for a blast of red hot pain. Even when not being touched, the swollen finger "thump" in sink with the heart beat.
Moral Of The Story = HERPES Of the Finger Sucks. And you need to pray that lucky "friend" of yours never gets a case.
oh im sure he would have. he said he wished he had told me before we took any of our clothes off..that we could have read info online about it together and i could have taught him about it as he didnt know much before i told him....he said he wouldnt have judged me or ran for the hills. he just would have appreciated me telling him before ANYTHING happened. he does get screened including bloodwork and says he doesnt have anything..his initial reaction was due to him not knowing much info about it at all. i couldnt give it to him by kissing him, there was no direct genital to genital contact so i couldnt give him genital hsv-1, and only fingering for a few minutes...and with a cut under his nail.. i mean im sure it wasnt fresh and open it had probably scabbed anyway....but there is all this info on other more conservative websites saying that its a possibility...im just hoping he doesnt read that stuff and come back saying i was lying and being untrustworthy or whatever...
but it does put me at ease and i told him your response and it put him at ease as well...so im just hoping nothing will come of it. it would be horrible if by some chance it did. and now i have to deal with him now knowing what i have in general...hes actually very sweet and understanding..just neurotic heh
I'm guessing he wouldn't have been as "ok" with you having herpes as he's led to you to believe from his reaction.
herpes is not a part of routine std testing so he'll need to check to see if he's ever been tested for it.
manual stimulation is low risk in general and almost no risk for most std's.
he is good about getting tested and is a very honest open person, and is frustrated with me for not telling him sooner..he says that if he had anything going on he would have told me. hes mostly concerned about getting this whitlow because of the cut on his hand...but ive told him your response, about how he isnt at risk and he shouldnt worry...so hopefully nothing will come of it and it will work out ok..because he would be pretttyyy mad at me if one day he came up with a blister on his finger...'furious' was the word he used actually..yikes.
he should test to know his own status. most adults have hsv1 whether they get obvious cold sores to know it. He also could have hsv2 and not know it. odds are he's never been tested before. No need for him to test though just because of his fingering you. make sense?
hsv1 genitally is active less than a dozen days out of the entire year on average. the odds of his having sexual contact with you on one of those days is incredibly low. if he already has hsv1 himself, the risk is even lower yet.
so i can safely say to him that he shouldnt worry and theres no need for him to test? i ask only because from all the other research ive read about it ive read that there is a slight risk..or at least theoretically..but i told him all about how it doesnt shed often etc....is there any other facts or info i could give him to ease his mind?
your partner wasn't at risk. has he ever been tested to know his own status? there's no reason for him to test from fingering you.
hsv1 doesn't shed very often in the genital area. the odds of you transmitting it to a partner in general are very low.

i know there are a lot of questions to be answered on here..but if someone could give me some insight that would be great. im having trouble sleeping at all over this..
